The 2nd Dance the Blues evening was a great success despite the huge competition from Gazza and others..

We all had another great evening and with your support it will only keep getting better.

There appears to be a huge interest from those of you who are testing the water from Jive to Blues..
Michael and Mikey were on hand to give you all a tast of what smooth dancing is all about and if you only jive there is still something for you and a chance to slow it down a bit.. Thanks Diane for a great set on the decks and for all of you who turned out to support us..

Dear Members and Friends,

A big thanks to all of you who came to our 1st Dinner and Dance at the Hadlow Manor Hotel on Friday.. It was an immense success and we have no doubt that the next one will be a sell out event. So if you were there on Friday, make sure you book early for the next one..and dont forget to spread the word.. Dance the Blues and the Dinner Dance Club are on thier way to becoming one of the best Dance Clubs in Kent.

I will be posting a video of the evening very soon and it will show just what a great evening we all had.. dancers of all styles and standards had a fantastic night of fun and frivolity with the wonderful Mikey of Dance Dedication making sure that we all stayed on the dance floor for most of the evening.

"Dance the Blues" is fast approaching again at the Dartford Stadium, Princes Park, Dartford.

This is to be held on the 24th of September 2010 and I will be posting details and directions in the next day or so.. There are going to be 2 x mini workshops for both the experienced blues dancer and for the jive dancer who wants to learn some smooth blues. We are pleased to announce that after searching around Kent for the right locations and venues that would be easily accesible, easy to find and with good free parking, we have now comitted to the following dates at Princes Park Stadium, Grassbanks, Darenth Road, Dartford, Kent DA1 1RT for our regular "Dance the Blues" Freestyle evenings. This proved a very popular venue last month.

The "Dinner Dance Club" will be held at the the lovely Hadlow Manor Hotel, Goose Green, Hadlow, near Tonbridge TN11 0JH

More information will be posted as we get nearer each of the dates, but for now please make a note in your diary that the following dates are now confirmed and we are expecting the Dinner Dance nights to be fully booked well before the event, so get your name on the list as soon as possible.

Blissfully Blues on Tour… In Norwich! (Saturday, 3rd July)

We have received many requests from our dancers in the East, to bring Blissfully Blues their way – so we have!

The Costessey Centre is a brand new hall to be opened in May. It is the perfect venue for a Blissfully Blues event.

This is going to be a true party night event! Although we will have soft drinks/tea/coffee/water available throughout the evening, this is a BYOB event – so you can bring what you would like to drink, at a fraction of the cost. And to make this feel truly party-ish, we will be having a Sharing Table too. For those not familiar with a sharing table, it is very simple. ..bring along something to add to the table for everyone to share!

We will be bringing along some great DJs of course!

After a short ‘Introduction to Blues’ class by Sara and Stanley, DJ Blueshoes, a force to be reckoned with on the Blues scene, will challenge and inspire you with his mix of Blues that will keep you yearning for more...just don’t step on his blue latin shoes! And just when you think things couldn’t get any better, the Blues master will take over! DJ Ismooth in his unique style, will squeeze the last passionate drop out of your dancing...thrilling us until midnight!

This event is £10 per person, but if you are attending the afternoon’s ‘Blues Basics’ workshop, do take advantage of our £30 combo deal.

Due to the feedback we have had from the dancers who attended the "Blissfully Blues on Tour" event at Princes Park Stadium, Dartford. We are holding another event in July

Michael will be teaching some of the basics from 7.30 to 8.30pm followed by a great evening of music from one of Kent's leading Blues and WCS DJ's... until Midnight.

The music will lend itself mostly to those who like to dance the blues, and jivers who have been around the dancefloor for a while.. If you WCS or just love to do your thing, then this is going to be a night to remember.

Michael and Jane have invited us along to Dartford to meet all the existing and new Blues dancers out there - and we can't wait!

We will be running a workshop during the day, to ease everyone into the zone and make sure we all have the skills and confidence to have a fantastic Blissfully Blues evening.

Sara and DJ ISmooth will be in control of the decks and we promise to bring you a fantastic mix of old favourites, new discoveries, and 'Oh my word I really HAVE to dance to this!' tracks for you.

For us at Jive Nites, Blues is about dancing to a broad spectrum of expressive, interpretative, passionate, dynamic and even challenging music... With like-minded dancers who live for those moments on the dance floor when the music, the atmosphere, the connection and the partnership combine to create that perfect dance moment...

Not that we take it seriously or anything!

At Blissfully Blues we strive to create an unintimidating, ambient Blues atmosphere, where you can lose yourself in the music.

The music is always provided by DJ's who are first and foremost, dancers! So you can guarantee that the music they play is the music they as dancers, would want to be hearing.
